Do employers look down on people who get a college degree online?

Do employers look down on people who get a college degree online?

It really depends on who is hiring. Take for example the last 2 companies I work in, the more "traditional" manager make fun of online degrees all the time, he even refuse to interview candidates with Online Degrees, but the other manager is more open to the idea although he remain skeptical. He grants the interview then access for himself if the candidate is up for the job.

Can I get an online college degree in Drafting and Design?

In this economy even the college grad has a hard time getting a job. I would think they would put you behind the more traditional college attendee.

I am a very famous heart surgeon and I got my degree online without ever having to attend any school in person. I sat infront of my computer and typed my way into a degree. Do my clients look down on me? No, I look down on them!

some does. ive heard of cases that they choosen a person who actually went to college over a person who went to college online. it all depends on the person thats hiring.

for me, it isnt that big of a deal. a degree is a degree right?

my best guess for choosing a person with online college degree over a person who actually attended college is that, the person who actually went to college had " people experience " hence making the person who gotten a degree online a person who doesnt like socializing. curl but, its my best guess

It depends, on the job you are applying for, second it depends on where you got the online degree. Chances are if you show confidence in your abilities, and what you know especially during the interview you are more than likely to make a good impression.

Sure school choice does matter some but, most of the knowledge you need for a job is learned at the place you are working at or applying for. For instance I went to school for computer science, or computer programming, and I got a job and pretty much re-learned how to program. I could have never went to school and still done fairly well after my training period.

Be confident and sure of your abilities don’t worry about what school you went to or your grades you determine the job you will get.

If it’s a simple job, I don’t think so. If you want to be a manager or someone important to a store, I think they’ll look up your records about college.

They are not looked down upon by employers rather there are more chances for online degree holders to get selected as they are considered to be more dedicated and determined towards their work.
