If it is, you can probably get an MS. But, an MS is no more a sure thing for research than a BS. A PhD is the closest you can get to a sure thing for research. I did research for 10 years with my BS...and lead a team that included PhDs, so I'm not stretching the truth. If you take it out of state you can arrange to take the midterm/finals at local testing centers.
