How do I go about earning my nursing degree online?
I am thinking about going back to college and earn my degree.

You cannot become a nurse online.Nursing school involves going to classes, doing skills labs and working in a clinical setting to gain experience. Any online "nursing" program will not be accredited, and you will not qualify for a license.Would you want a nurse looking after you if she had never been to a real school and never hand any hands on training?

How do you go about earning your nursing degree online? If you’re not already a Registered Nurse, the answer is: you can’t. Some programs for first-time nurses might let you do some of the academic coursework online, but you need clinical practice hours, live and in person, to become a nurse. If you want to be an RN, you also have to pass a national exam.
Online nursing degree programs are only available for current, licensed RNs who want to do the extra theoretical work needed to become a BSN graduate (bachelor of science in nursing).

The website below has some specific info for online nursing degrees. You may have to take some classes on a campus too or in a local hospital to get your R.N. nursing degree online. Nurse Addison

Before choosing any college/university make sure it is accredited from the proper authority. As far as online degree’s are concerned they are a good option for students who wants to study while working. Since you want to earn a nursing degree online, I advise you do a thorough assessment of the online nursing program and the college that you are considering. You must make sure that the nursing degree you are contemplating is accredited, helps you advance your career to the next professional level and makes you eligible for higher education.
I would recommend you to check out the BSN and MSN programs that Independence University offers through distance learning. The University is accredited by the DETC and offers an extensive curriculum for an online BSN and MSN.

First of all you need to consider the collegs that offer online courses. Some that i know off of the top of my head are the University of Phoenix, Walden University and Kaplan University. Then you need to see which of your completed courses will tranfer. You may not have to go to school for that much time. I am in a nursing program right now and am very excited about getting my BSN. Hope this helped!
