I wish to pursue a masters degree in child psychology online? which is a good university to join?

A good university that is internationally accredited

Hate to rain on your parade, but online universities are viewed as somewhat of a joke. I’m in grad school working on my doc’s in psych, and for a brief minute I did consider doing online schooling so I wouldn’t have to move across the country, but all my professors were adamant that I don’t because, like I said earlier, it’s viewed as a joke, especially for something like psychology where there is suppose to be tons of real life interaction (unlike say a math degree online would still be a joke, but a little more credible). Even at my internship site where I’m a child therapist, my supervisor was telling me that they try NOT to hire people w/ BS online degrees unless they’re really desperate. Think about it, why do you think people move cities or (in my case) across the entire country to attend grad school when they can just do it conveniently online w/ out having to go through the trouble of moving? It’s because the online school is a joke and a half.

Have you graduated from an online school with a psychology degree and landed a job?

HI,

There are many good on-line universities. To find the one that would best fit your needs, you should go to your states board of professional development to find out what the educational requirements are for licensure in your state. (I am guessing that you will want to become licensed)

Not all schools provide the same curriculum for a degree. However, checking with the board will give you the information that you need. Take the ed. requirements you get from them and compare it with the schools that are on line to see which one fills your need.

Hope this helps.

Yo,

Rockin Robert,

With all due respect your answer is a joke! I am a Clinical Psychologist (PhD) and earned my Doctorate at Capella University years ago…Completed in 2001. I had to travel to Minneapolis every month for a year while in residency and 2 weeks in June for 2 summers.

The information you receive from a book is mox nix to your abilities as a practitioner! I wrote and implemented the program that set the stage for the new federal government reformation in 2000.

Before you sing and dance be sure you know the beat and steps!
